A Change of Gift

Daniel Chmielewski, born in Berlin, raised in Melbourne, resides in Warsaw.
He has written and drawn postmodern autobiographical graphic novels, co-authored comics about psychology in sports or dealing with depression, and adapted literature (his “Antigone” with the full text of Sophocles’ tragedy has been published in Slovenia, Slovakia and Poland).
As an author of children’s books, he loves cooperating with other artists, as is the case with “Miasto Złotej” (“The Golden Girl’s City”), painted by Magda Rucińska and dealing with urbanism and ecology. For nearly 15 years he has been teaching comic narration in culture centres, schools.

Stav Assis, an Israeli illustrator, obtained his degree in illustration from the visual communication department at Shankar College. Currently living in a small town right next to Tel Aviv, he shares his home with his wife, their new baby daughter (born just three days after his comics partner, Daniel’s daughter), and their dog.
