Paul Paetzel is a Berlin-based illustrator and comic artist, born in 1984. He studied Visual Communication at the Berlin University of the Arts, graduating in 2010 and completing his Meisterschüler degree in 2012. Paetzel is a co-founder of the artist collective Edition Biografiktion, through which he self-publishes graphic prints, zines, books, and posters in limited editions, and is also a member of the mini-comics distribution collective The Treasure Fleet. His work has been shown internationally in solo and group exhibitions, and his illustrations and comics have appeared in numerous magazines and publications worldwide. Since 2014, he has regularly taught drawing and comics through workshops, festivals, universities, and cultural institutions.
